Growing up in an artistic family and having attended art school, Kacper’s work is regularly influenced by artistic references, not least artists such as Lucien Freud and Isa Genzken. His interest in art is also his main driving force: “The best fashion photography exists in the mix of art and commerce; the perfect balance between creativity and commerciality is what gives fashion its relevance. For me, this is also what I find most meaningful, to find the best solution to whatever challenge is presented to me. The most successful collaborations are based on the combination of creative freedom and mutual trust between photographer and client.” A proof of this is the variety in his portfolio, as he has worked both with leading niche magazines such as i-D, Purple magazine, Industrie, Man about Town and 032c as well as more commercial publications, including Vogue Paris, Vogue China, Vogue Poland, Vogue Hommes, GQ and Harper’s Bazaar.
Kacper’s creative process is both intuitive and explorative. His strong interest in colour is a recurring theme, as is his eye for finding new faces. Throughout the years, he has worked with some of the world’s best-known stylists, among others Carine Roitfeld, Robbie Spencer and Joe McKenna, and with brands such as Gucci, Hermès, Chanel, YSL, Balenciaga and Burberry. Today, he not only works as photographer but also as film director and DOP.
